English Proficiency Test Waiver

Qualify for an English Proficiency Test waiver for Sonoma State University or Santa Rosa Junior College!

Students will be permitted to enter Sonoma State University as an undergraduate or enroll at Santa Rosa Junior College without submitting a language test score. Below are the minimum requirements for the waiver:

Pass the UPP program with full time enrollment with a minimum of 90% in all core courses
No elective course grade lower than an "S" (Satisfactory)
Receive a Letter of Recommendation from the SSALI Program Coordinator
Must complete Full Semester to be eligible, mid-semester starts do not qualify

Once the student passes the UPP course and meets all the requirements for the English Proficiency Test Waiver, they are expected to have an English proficiency that is comparable to the test listed on the SSU International Admission Requirements page.

Students will be required to meet all other admission requirements for admission to Sonoma State University and Santa Rosa Junior College.
