About

Craig Whan brings over 25 years in project management experience and program leadership roles in renewable energy, technology development, environmental compliance consulting, defense department contractor support, and heavy civil construction.

Craig earned his Bachelor and Master’s Degrees from the University of California, Davis and a Certificate in Project Management from UC Santa Barbara Extension.

Craig’s diverse commercial experience managing projects in different technical disciplines led to understanding that a common set of skills can guide any effort to a planned result within the reality of available resources. This is the purpose of project management as a critical discipline and job role.

To help project leaders acquire better practices and improve value delivery, Craig synthesized a project management curriculum covering both the theory as well as practical techniques and best practices of project management. Craig’s instruction objective is to allow the learner to confidently apply the proper tools and methods that best fit any project situation.

Craig’s teaching experience in project management has included adjunct faculty positions at UCSB’s Bren School of Environmental Science and Management and UCSB Extension. Learner groups have included undergraduate and graduate students, as well as returning education professionals from the community. He has conducted international training workshops for preparing project management practitioners to take the PMP exam.

Craig is a solution-oriented professional, committed to better practices and value delivery processes for organizations.
